Why it exists

Novelists who want AI help have been stuck between two kinds of tool. Some are genuinely powerful and punishing to use, asking you to bring your own API key or learn a raw generation interface before you can write a sentence. Others are polished but hard to trust, with credit anxiety, pricing you cannot predict and arguments about what happens to your words.

Neither kind makes the thing a novelist actually wants feel simple: get unstuck, and keep writing your own book. That is the gap FeelyWrite was built for. It is for the writer who wants to finish their book, not the person who wants a book generated for them.

Who is behind it

FeelyWrite is built and managed by the FeelyWrite organization. The product was shaped with guidance from working writers throughout, and their input is the reason it looks the way it does: the heat control on romance, the fair-play rules on mystery, the refusal to auto-publish anything.

The guides on the Craft Journal are written by our editorial team, who are real people with bylines and author pages. Every post names its author, and every author page lists what they have written.

What we believe

  • The writer is the author

    The AI is a helper, never the author. Nothing is auto-published and nothing is locked in. Every suggestion is yours to take, change or ignore, and the book that results is one you wrote.

  • Your words are yours

    You keep every right to what you write. That is not a promise on a marketing page; it is what the terms say, and you can export the whole manuscript to docx, pdf, epub, markdown or plain text at any time, on any plan, including the free one.

  • Pricing you can predict

    Every plan includes every feature. There is no export tier and no feature held back for a higher price. You start free with no card, and billing is handled by Paddle as merchant of record.

Your writing and AI

When you ask for an AI action, the text needed to perform it is sent to an AI model provider, which processes it and returns the result. Only what is needed for that request is sent. This is set out in full on the privacy page, and that page is the authority: if anything here and there ever disagree, the privacy page is correct.

You can export your manuscript at any time using the in-app export, and you can ask us to delete your account and its data. Nothing about the product depends on you being unable to leave.

How we check the writing quality

Changing how the AI writes is easy to do and easy to get wrong, because a change that improves one kind of scene often quietly damages another. So every change to a generation feature is measured against a captured baseline across a fixed set of stories before it ships, and a change that does not beat the baseline is reverted.

We make no public claim about how FeelyWrite compares with any other writing tool. The harness measures our own output against our own previous output, which is a process we can stand behind, rather than a benchmark result we could wave at you.

How the guides are written

The Craft Journal is written by our editorial team. Each writer covers a beat: novel craft, working with an AI partner, tools and reviews, publishing, and the numbers behind a manuscript.

Every post carries a byline that links to its author, and a date. When a post states a fact about a competitor, a price or a platform rule, it names the source and the date it was checked, because those change and a page that hides when it was written is asking you to trust something stale.
